Yes, I Still Workout.

Here’s a little training update:

I’m currently working on dropping more weight leading up to a meet on June 22nd.  My wrist is still killing me but my lifts are actually feeling pretty dece’.  My clean and jerks are getting more and more consistent at heavier percentages, hopefully this will translate to a PR in the near future.  Last Friday I hit a 137/172, which is my best overall in some time.  If I can hit something similar on the 22nd at a lighter BW, I’ll be happy.  Here’s a little footage from Monday.

I didn’t expect much after a weekend of hiking but my clean and jerks actually felt pretty good.  This is a favorite exercise of mine.  I’m not sure if this is a PR but I do know that 166kg is better than 165kg.

    Nice lift Ben,

    I noticed your wrists curl back around 0:11- 0:14. Is that a natural occurrence or is it something you actively do? Would that be a cue to use?

      Yes, the wrists do curl inwards as the bar passes the knees. I don’t coach this, I just let it happen. I feel like focusing on it would detract away from focusing on what the hips are doing, at least for beginners. My hassle free teammates, Alex lee and David Garcia DO focus on curling their wrists but both have been lifting for over 8 years and have been coached by zigmont at the OTC.
